My husband surprised me with a stay at this mansion and we stayed in the bridal suite. Once we were checked in and in our room, I sat in the living/TV room. I felt a tickle along the back of my neck, and turned around to see that where was nothing that could have caused it. I asked my husband if the place was haunted, and he handed me a copy of the hauntings attached to the home. That night we went out to dinner, and heard the sound of screaming. Since our anniversary is in mid October we assumed it was due to a haunted house attraction or something. It is a small town. There was also a sizable herd of deer playing in the yard of the property. When we later went to bed, we were sound asleep and I was awakened by someone male clearing their throat. I assumed it was my husband, but when I looked he was breathing quietly and sound asleep. I wasn't afraid; I just settled back to sleep. When I was awakened the second time and realized the clearing of the throat was coming from across the room, I sat up in bed and said quietly that I understood he was there, but I needed to get some sleep. No problam the rest of the night. Our host aloud us free run of the place and we climbed up to the top tower and down into the basement. When our host told us that there were no Halloween attractions, I remembered the story of a woman who has been seen climbing the stairs inside who is a ghost. The story is that she had a cabin on the property and a black union soldier came to her severely injured. She nursed him back to health and they fell in love. The townspeople were enraged with this and burned the cabin down with them trapped inside. Now that story gave me the chills for sure.

Kat Von D has purchased this property as her personal residence. Most likely can't investigate here anymore.
