Gray Hotel
Redkey, IN 47373
This hotel dates back to 1912 and now houses the offices of a paranormal investigative team. They have reported that the building is one of the most haunted in the entire state. It has had a troubling history of manslaughter, murder and illegal activity. There have been at least two or three homicides on the grounds, including a barber who was buried under the porch and a grocer who was dumped in a field outside the township. Visitors have reported encountering a ghostly couple wearing period clothing, as well as a leering man who has appeared for a split second before he disappears. Tenants of stores on the ground floor have experienced phenomena such as slamming doors, lights turning on and off, disembodied footsteps, fleeting touches from unseen hands, cold spots, a sense of dizziness and apparitions appearing on the second floor and in the basement.

I've spoken on occasion to the "ghost hunter" who happens to be incredibly steeped in the occult. I have also watched every ghost hunting video put out about Redkey and find them all very hard to believe. No evidence whatsoever is collected without the use of gadgets and devices. I love the paranormal, but me thinks this be someone who is looking for a way to make more cash than ghosts.

We just did the Tour on Saturday and had a lot of activity. Lots of communication through the dowsing rods. I grew up in Redkey and did not know some of the history. Very interesting and lots of activity! Highly recommend

As of this morning, The proprietor of the antique shop called Dynamites in the Gray Hotel, opened her door to find a man in a top hat standing watching her. He was dressed in 1920-1930s clothing. He disappeared after only a moment. This was at 8am.
SPPI Ghost Hunters are going to start scheduling ghost hunts and tours at the end of this month (July). Contact them for prices and availability. They have several locations to choose from. The Gray Hotel, The Redkey Asylum, Key Palace Theater, and the Pioneer Graveyard. All have a lot of activity going on.
