This college dates back to 1847 when it was founded by Quakers as a liberal arts college. The college is said to have a resident ghost that resides in the Athletic and Wellness Center. It is known to play basketball at night. Another story surrounding the college has to do with two students who were walking in the back of the campus. They were trying to cross the creek that is behind the school, by walking along a pipe that was placed across. It has been said that they fell off into the creek and that to this day on Halloween night, you can see the fingernail scratches on the pipe where they slipped, along with sounds of screaming from down below.
